Deacon Ministry

The biblical ministry of deacons is to serve the body of Christ in meeting both temporal and spiritual needs. The original deacons waited tables serving widows in a daily distribution of food (Acts 6). Our deacons are available and committed to visiting the sick, welcoming newcomers into the life of the church, reclaiming the absentee, and following up on needs and requests for aid. The deacons administer the church’s benevolence fund, helping people primarily with food, shelter, and medicine.
